Georgian president downplays South Ossetia elections

June 2nd, 2009 15:54

Georgian president has commented on the so-called parliamentary elections in Georgia`s breakaway region of Tskhinvali and said that Georgian government is not going to pay attention to the so-called polls conducted in a military camp.
Mikheil Saakashvili says the war in Tskhinvali region was just a motive for attack on Tbilisi and Abkhazia for Russia.
`Rough regime, a boot of a foreign soldier governs the two regions of Georgia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which have been fled by its residents. Russia used this region for a major attack contrary to any logics. Today Tskhinvali region is a polygon and conduct of elections at a military camp is very cynical, to which we should not even pay attention,` Saakashvili said.
