Single initiative makes mass impact?

The way we see things in life determines how they are out there. It starts in our mind, we think and it determines our actions. If a voice in our head tells us that something is good then we go for it. But what if that something is not good? We stop, turn away or maybe even run away. However, most of the time, good and bad sides aren’t good enough for us to decide on action; anyway it would be just talking values. In such a fast-paced world, where time matters as never before, we encounter so much in everyday life and we have to be selective: ‘oh, I quit ballet classes to save time and achieve better results at school… because that’s more important to me’, ‘I choose to vote for the Democrats because I think they will get me in better situation’, ‘I carefully choose as I know every decision has consequences for me’. Right, consequences matters! The end determines incentives for us to decide on the path we choose; how will it change my life? How am I going to end up with this decision? So we think, ponder over incentives and options we have and then press the action button or don’t. It always comes down to a personal benefit.
What gets on the mind of an individual when it comes to decide on action for others? Is it a Cheeseburger or a Hamburger? Pepsi or Cola? Maybe it’s influence on others or faith. Isn’t it interesting how historical figures made positive changes to the world? Or why are there international human rights and peace organizations which pay attention to every single threat to universal values in any country. Why should one care if his/her neighbor’s rights are violated? We are so much connected today with global culture, economy, values… if there is a war on another continent it affects the whole world with disastrous consequences. If any person’s right are violated in any country it means human rights are violated globally. And, saving one person, saving one country starts with an individual’s initiative! Saving one person from violation is saving the rest from it; we don’t know when it knocks on our doors. Saving one country from war is saving the rest from it; we don’t know when war knocks on our doors if we let it exist. Therefore every single initiative matters to save the world from war and violation! Individuals can make mass impact, not only big organizations; it always starts with one person to stand for others! And, saving others is saving our very selves from experiencing the same.
This article has been contributed to sosgeorgia.org to call for more initiatives from around the world for protecting peace in Georgia.
